Religious Life

At the heart of our synagogue lies a deep commitment to community –
creating it, sustaining it and celebrating it!

Judaism does not fit neatly into the box that we label: “Religion.” Through that realization, the Religious Life that we strive to create at Ohr Shalom is predicated on a diverse community joining together in observance of our shared sacred traditions.

Our shared “Religious Life” aspires to connect meaningfully within our community for those who are seeking connections to the spiritual and the sacred, as well as those who are seeking other connections: to community, to shared history as well as joyful social engagement. At our synagogue we try to instill all of our programs with an awareness and appreciation of the sacred and Jewish spirituality, and to observe the broadest spectrum of Jewish holidays and observances. We also represent a great diversity of Jewish ethnicities and backgrounds and hope to embrace that diversity in the Religious Life of our community.
